ilumen · film camera
Over-sharpened, over-brightened, flattened by HDR. ilumen goes the other way — it captures 48MP RAW and develops every shot itself, with sharpening off and AI enhancement off, for the soft dimensional character of a classic compact film camera.

How it works
01
Positive, Negative, Hi-Contrast B&W or Standard. The viewfinder shows it live — what you see is what you get.
02
A 28mm-equivalent 3:2 frame with bright framelines, the classic compact focal length. No pinch-zoom fiddling.
03
A finished 48MP photo lands in your library. No menus, no editing afterwards.
What "no AI" means here
Your phone's stock camera runs scene detection, HDR fusion, sharpening and machine-learned enhancement before you ever see the file. ilumen turns that off and develops the RAW itself. Grain is optional and added deliberately; nothing is invented, upscaled or hallucinated. It is a development pipeline, not a filter.
The details
Positive for punchy contrast and warm colour, Negative for lifted blacks and muted warmth, Hi-Contrast B&W with optional grain, and Standard for the pure natural RAW render.
Two-axis white balance shift (amber–blue, green–magenta) per recipe, exposure compensation, tap to focus, and a softness control that melts digital crispness like a mist filter.
Like film simulations on a real camera, each recipe keeps its own white balance, grain and softness. Switch and your setup is still there.

Questions
No. It turns off the sharpening and machine-learned enhancement your phone normally applies, and develops the RAW itself. Grain is optional and added deliberately.
No. Full 48MP capture uses Apple ProRAW, available on iPhone 14 Pro and later. Other iPhones shoot 12MP RAW with exactly the same film development.
There is no editor in the app — the point is that the photo is finished when it lands. It is a normal file in your library, so you can edit it anywhere you like.
It is the classic compact-camera focal length: wide enough for a street or a room, natural enough not to distort a face. Bright framelines show the 3:2 crop.
